Kindness matters

We were at Walmart today. I had a tight budget for our grocery items. When checking out, I exceeded it (of course) and asked the cashier if she would please take some items off, including 2 pumpkins that were definatly not a nenecessity. Behind me was a gentleman who said to the cashier "excuse me ma'am, I would like to purchase those for her, if you could ring everything up for me that she just took off" I told him he didnt need to do that, he told me he wanted to. My eyes filled with tears at his charitable and kind heart. I stood there in the checkout line with my 40 dollars cash, 2 pumpkins and tears. You both asked me why I was crying. I told you about how a stranger just showed us the true love of Christ through his charity. I took the time to make sure you know that in the end, only kindness matters. I hope you will always find the opportunity to help and serve others through random acts. Just as important, I could have easily refused his offer. It is so important to allow someone to do something kind for you. Not only do you benefit, but the giver always walks away knowing they have made a difference in someones life and in turn is blessed. What an amazing experiance we had today. I'm so thankfull and prayed for him tonight to receive the blessings he needs.
